Frequently Asked Questions

How many tiles can I enter?

The calculation requires a 14-tile hand. Tap a tile to add it, or tap a selected tile to remove one copy. You can enter up to four copies of the same tile.

Which hand types are supported?

The app calculates shanten for standard hands, seven pairs, and thirteen orphans, then uses the best result when comparing discards.

Does the remaining count mean the number actually left in the wall?

It is the theoretical count: four copies minus copies of the same tile in your 14-tile hand. Visible discards and called tiles are not included.

Should I always choose the first discard shown?

Candidates prioritize the lowest shanten number and then wider ukeire. Yaku, score, turn number, safety, and other players are not considered, so use the result for review and study.

Is my hand stored or transmitted?

No. Your hand is used only for an on-device calculation and is not stored or sent to an external server. The app has no account registration or analytics.
